Following the severe floods that struck Malaysia in 2021 and 2022, several food processing plants sustained significant damage and were forced to decommission their production systems. Pneu Powders was engaged to restore and recommission the affected plants, bringing the ingredient handling and conveying infrastructure back to full operational capability.

The systems affected by the flooding were not originally supplied by Pneu Powders. The scope of work required a thorough understanding of third-party equipment in order to restore, reconstruct, and integrate each system with a new control panel and an upgraded SCADA platform.

The process involved close coordination with the original equipment manufacturers. All equipment was broken down into its component parts, assessed for usability, and categorised accordingly. Components beyond repair were replaced or fabricated by specialist fabricators to the original specifications. Once all parts were accounted for, the systems were fully recombined and recommissioned to return the plants to production.

Although the systems restored in this project were not originally supplied by Pneu Powders, the depth of our engineering expertise in pneumatic conveying and powder handling made us well placed to take on the challenge. The project was carried out in close partnership with the client and the original equipment manufacturers at every stage, ensuring that the recommissioned systems met the required performance standards and could be handed back to production with full confidence.
